What to expect

Day by day

Day 1: Arrival in Hadiboh

Arrive on the twice-weekly Yemenia Airways flight from Aden (or occasional international flights). Land at Socotra International Airport.

Transfer to Hadiboh; visit the small museum and the Friday market to see local frankincense and handicrafts.

Settle into your guesthouse. Walk the waterfront promenade; dinner of fresh lobster or grouper.

Day 2: Firmihin Plateau & Dragon's Blood Forest

Drive inland to Firmihin Plateau (1,500m). Trek through groves of ancient dragon's blood trees against sandstone ridges.

Hike to higher viewpoints; spot endemic Socotra sunbirds and Socotra sparrows.

Return to Hadiboh; rest and prepare for the next mountain hike.

Day 3: Skant Mountain & Frankincense Valleys

Early start for the steep trail up Skant Mountain (4,000 ft). Scramble through endemic shrubland.

Summit views over the entire island. Descend into frankincense-harvesting valleys near Qalhun Village.

Visit Qalhun to meet Soqotri shepherds and learn about traditional frankincense collection. Return to Hadiboh.

Day 4: Kalab Bay & Coastal Snorkeling

Drive west to Kalab Bay; snorkel pristine reefs with green turtles, grouper and angelfish.

Walk the white-sand beach; explore rock pools and search for endemic molluscs.

Overnight in a beachside camp or return to Hadiboh.

Day 5: Seven Sisters Beach & Shuab

Drive to the dramatic Seven Sisters Beach; 600m sand cliffs drop straight to the shore.

Snorkel at nearby Shuab Beach; untouched coral gardens and sea eagle sightings.

Return to Hadiboh; farewell dinner and pack for departure.

Day 6: Departure

Last-minute shopping for frankincense, honey or hand-woven textiles at Hadiboh market.

Transfer to airport for twice-weekly flight to Aden or onward destination.

Depart.
