Day by day

Day 1: Arrival in São Tomé

Early departure to Pico trailhead (south of São Tomé, 45 min); hike 2,024m peak through misty forest.

Descend via cocoa plantations; visit Roça Monte Café (historic plantation with 360° views if clear).

Rest in São Tomé; dinner at Tarrafal restaurant (fish grilled with local greens).

Day 4: Príncipe Island Day Trip

Fly to Príncipe (30 min); explore the capital Praia Santo António and its crumbling colonial fort.

Kayak mangrove channels near Sundi Praia; snorkel coral heads; visit Bom Bom Island (offshore resort).

Return flight to São Tomé; beach walk at Praia Jalé (southwest coast, empty black sand).
