Day by day

Day 1: Arrive Window Rock & North to Shiprock

Arrive Window Rock airport; pick up rental car, fill gas tank.

Drive 2.5 hours north to Shiprock; stop at Shiprock viewpoint for photography.

Stay in Shiprock or tiny Fruitland; dinner at a local diner like Genaro's.

Day 2: Trading Posts & Plateau Drive

Visit Two Grey Hills Trading Post (Navajo weaving center); talk with weavers.

Long scenic drive east through high desert plateaus; pass through Toadlena, Narbona Pass.

Arrive Chinle; stay at Sacred Canyon Lodge or similar; simple dinner at local restaurants.

Day 3: Canyon de Chelly Immersion

Ranger-led walk to White House Ruins (2.5 mi, 1.5 hrs); ancient homes carved into cliff.

South Rim scenic drive; stops at Sliding House, Antelope House, and Spider Rock overlooks.

Optional sunset at Monument Point; return to Chinle for dinner at Garcia's.

Day 4: Return & Window Rock

Depart Chinle; drive 3 hours west back to Window Rock; stop at Hubbell Trading Post.

Window Rock town: visit the Window Rock Navajo Nation Museum or relax.

Depart or extend; casual dinner at Genaro's in downtown Window Rock.
